Message from the Director of Policy and Trade

We are delighted to welcome Gustavo Sosa Fenoglio as he joins the World Agriculture Forum (WAF), bringing with him over a decade of pioneering experience at the forefront of sustainable agriculture and agri-biotechnology innovation. As the Founder and Scientific Director of INBIOAR-Global (BVI) LTD and INBIOAR SAS Argentina, he has led cutting-edge research in bioprospecting, developing eco-friendly molecules for crop protection through a unique method of screening plant species for bioactive compounds. Working under the framework of the Nagoya Protocol, his team has successfully identified natural herbicidal, insecticidal, fungicidal, and plant growth-stimulant properties in wild plant species, translating scientific discoveries into practical, sustainable solutions for the agriculture industry.

With a strong academic foundation as a former research leader in plant physiology and genetics and Professor of Biochemistry at Universidad del Salvador, Argentina, he has guided strategic research on herbicide development and plant tolerance, mentored Ph.D. candidates, published scientific papers, and co-filed patents with the USDA. Over the years, he has also played an instrumental roles in building biotech ventures like INBIOAR SA and Xelera Labs, driving technology transfer, innovation, and new business models in agribusiness. His proven leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration, and passion for modernizing agriculture will be invaluable as WAF continues to advance global efforts toward safer, sustainable, and resilient food systems.
